Start Here: Marine Biosphere Lookout
Marine Biosphere Lookout is a community driven marine biodiversity documentation initiative focused on the waters of Palk Bay and the Gulf of Mannar.
Through diver observations, underwater photography and field reporting, the project aims to build a growing visual archive of marine species, habitats and ecosystem observations from the region.
Every submitted sighting contributes toward conservation awareness, species documentation and long term community led ocean stewardship.
Divers, researchers, students, photographers and ocean ambassadors are encouraged to contribute observations from recreational dives, training dives and exploratory expeditions.
Together, these collective observations help create a living record of the marine ecosystems surrounding our coastline.
Submitted observations may be reviewed and published as part of the Marine Biosphere Lookout species archive and conservation outreach initiatives. Contributors will be credited wherever possible unless anonymity is requested.
